We are searching for a creative and driven Bilingual Medical Assistant Float to join our esteemed team in our Houston East Region clinics (5th Ward, 3rd Ward, Lawndale, Deer Park and Baytown). As a Medical Assistant Float, you'll be central to our clinical operations, ensuring that each patient encounter is seamless and supportive. Your role is integral in facilitating exams, managing critical medical supplies, and maintaining stringent sterilization standards, all while leveraging your bilingual communication skills to enhance patient experience and community wellbeing. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough and empathetic patient interviews to gather medical history, and accurately record vital signs, height, and weight in medical records.
  • Collect, log, and prepare laboratory specimens such as blood and tissue, ensuring precision and accuracy for testing.
  • Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations and treatments, including instrument handling, administering injections, and suture removal.
  • Ensure treatment rooms are meticulously prepared, tidy, and sanitized for each examination, supporting patient safety and comfort.
  • Clean and sterilize medical equipment, properly disposing of contaminated supplies to uphold high standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Engage in phone consultations to effectively discuss test results and health concerns with patients, fostering trust and continuity in care.
  • Provide versatile support across a spectrum of services including Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Adult Medicine, adapting to the needs of various clinicians.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant or certificate of Medical Assistant is mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is essential for patient safety and care standards.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is a must to effectively communicate with our diverse patient community.
